Sen. Shehu Buba Umar: A Kaleidoscope of a Quintessential Gentleman

The Bauchi South Senatorial Zone where Sen. Shehu Buba is representing in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly is one of the backward zone in terms of development, education and healthcare delivery and Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). And perhaps the zone can also be characterized by a high level of Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). Hitherto, the urgent need for a radical approach towards mitigating the backwardness of the zone cannot be overemphasized. 

The thematic areas that are precisely receiving the indivisible attention of Sen. Shehu Buba are: Healcare, Education, Security and Social Welfare. However, Sen. Shehu Buba Umar, the present senator representing the good people of Bauchi South Senatorial Zone is being lucky enough to have the rare privilege of occupying the exulted office of Chairman, Senate Committee on Security and Intelligence. Perhaps sequel to his election in the 2023 and subsequently sworn-in to office, Sen Shehu Buba, popularly referred to as Mujaddadi “the reformer” by his electorates, he is currently bequeathing a Paradigm Shift in his leadership style. 

However, coming thus far, having brought up under a typical nomadic Fulani background, with a vast wealth of grassroot experience of the political terrain he is representing, Sen. Shehu Umar is presently changing the narrative. He is walking the talk by initiating innumerous, among others, but not limited to healthcare, educational and social welfare constituency projects through his SENSEBLE Project – Sen. Shehu Buba Legislative Employment Project.
