HUMANITARIAN SERVICE & POVERTY ERADICATION: Dr. Betta Edu's Devine Providence By Yazid Inuwa MK Bauchi

As we see God's providence in Abraham telling his son Isaac, “God will provide” the needed sacrifice. As well, God also caused Pharaoh's daughter to hear the cry of a tiny baby, and later used well-taught, sensitive Moses to change the destiny of his chosen people. Perhaps Dr. Betta Edu's paradigm shift in Nigeria's enigmatic humanitarian front also subscribed to the theological prophecy of Abraham vis-a-vis “God's provision of an alternate sacrifice, instead of his son, Isaac, and the proverbial “every Pharaoh, there must be a Moses”.

No matter how Pharaoh, the Nigeria's enigmatic humanitarian crisis and Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) appears to be, Dr. Betta Edu's pragmatic approach towards tackling the menace can also be proverbially described as his corresponding Moses. 

Taken the North Eastern Boko Haram–insurgency–ravens region as a typical example – where human beings were hacked like Agric chickens, cattles were rustled, and property worth billions of US dollars were destroyed. 

The Boko Haram insurgency damage to the north east was to an extent that, the then Bauchi south senator, late Sen. Malam Ali Wakili, described the monster situation on the floor of the senate hallow chamber as, “a Hoobacian State of Being”; state of natural condition of mankind, according to Thomas Hobbes, which life is “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short” because individuals are in a “war of all against all”.

Under the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, in tandem with the Vice President Kashim Shettima's relentlessly effort, and that of his successor, the incumbent Borno state's workerholic governor, Prof. Babaga Zulum, Dr. Betta Edu, as the Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, is performing extremely well, setting a precedence, in an unprecedented paradigm shift manner. 

In the humanitarian front, Dr. Betta Edu has indeed chris-crossed the country, in just a few couple of months, as a minister. And without fear of contradiction, Dr. Betta Edu has reached a feat, hitherto, unschequed, in the area of poverty eradication and humanitarian service delivery.`As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is taking a Herculean stride towards fulfilling his campaign promises, through his Renewed Hope Agenda, it is a scared duty upon every well meaning Nigerian to fervently pray for Mr. President to continue with his pragmatic approach towards tackling Nigeria's economy woes.
