PALLIATIVES DISTRIBUTION: VP Kashim Shettima Urge NEDC to Expand Intervention Scope to Cover More Road Projects

While officially commissioning the North East Development Commission's (NEDC) palliatives distribution exercise in Maiduguri, Vice President Kashim Shettima urged NEDC's Executive Director, Humanitarian Affairs, Malam Musa Umar Yashi, to expand the commission's Intervention scope to cover more road projects across the region.

The VP, Sen. Kashim Shettima, lamented on the degree of destruction inflicted to North East by Boko Haram insurgency, to the tune of $9 billion. He further commends the prudent management of the meager resources at the commission's disposal.

Perhaps, also worthy of bringing to bare, is the commission's Executive Director, Malam Musa Umar Yashi, who's relentless effort, selflessness and pragmatic approach towards tackling the multifaceted humanitarian crisis, and poverty challenges bedeviling the region, cannot be overemphasised.

However, the VP also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's wisdom, for finding the Executive Director, Malam Musa Umar Yashi, worthy of reappointment to continue with his pragmatic approach towards finding a lasting panacea to the humanitarian crisis and poverty predicaments of the impoverished women, downtrodden men and gullible youths across the 7 states of the region – Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe and Taraba states, respectively.
