Malam Musa Umar Yashi Welcomes Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister to North East 


The Executive Director, Humanitarian Affairs, North East Development Commission (NEDC)Malam Musa Umar Yashi welcomes Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, on her first working visit to the North East. The Honourable Minister was on her first official trip outside Abuja, on a 2 Days working visit to Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno. 

Malam Musa Yashi complements President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's choice of Dr. Betta Edu as Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister, sighting example with her first official trip to Maiduguri as a way of fulfilling the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Minister was on a mission to support the victims of humanitarian crisis across the northeastern states, where she was received by the Executive Governor of Borno state, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum

Dr. Betta Edu distributed millions of Naira worth of food items in the Bulumkutu Rehabilitation Camp. The food items distribution is aimed at cushioning the harsh effect of fuel subsidy removal, which will be extended to all the North Eastern states of Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states that suffered the most in hands of Boko Haram insurgency. 

The Executive Director further comments the warm reception given to the Humanitarian Minister by the government and good people Borno state; and fervently prayed for her successful working days in the region.
