The Ambassador of Netherlands praised Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, for her proactive approach to migration issues in Nigeria. This was disclosed by the ambassador while in an audience with the Honorable Minister in her office. 

The Ambassador was received in audience by the minister; where lot of issues were discussed by the duo, among other things including the Nigeria and Netherlands migration dialogue scheduled to hold from 19th to 20th October, 2023 was brought to bare; and 58 countries have signed the agreement, so far.

Hitherto, it worth mentioning that Nigeria and Netherlands are co-hosting a thematic event on Youth and Development in the Hague on the 19th and 20th of October 2023; where the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu is expected to chair the two days event.

Hon. Musa Umar Yashi, the Executive Director Humanitarian Affairs of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), had also pledged his commission's total support to Dr. Betta Edu's giant stride towards finding a lasting panacea to the humanitarian crisis and poverty challenges bedeviling the country. He also called the attention of the minister towards the youths of the northeastern region that are presently recuperating from the strangulation of the insurgency and banditry that shattered the region in the past.
